This post is long over due! So here it is!

Miss Emma + Sir James tied the knot this past October at the Pierce House. Emma was referred to me by her co-worker in New York, Miss Becky who tied the knot at the State Room last year as well! There were lots of bridesmaids including all of her beautiful sisters and close girlfriends. Cassandra and I arrived at her childhood home in Sudbury, Ma just after all the girls finished up a private yoga class in the huge living room. These girls reminded me of the girls in Miss Becca’s wedding at the Crane Estate this past August. They ALL went for a run at 6am in 95 degree heat! Talk about dedicated athletic ladies! Me, not so much! hehe. Miss Emma was stunning from head to toe, from her natural red hair, makeup, bird cage veil, vintage inspired earrings, to her beautifully tailored dress. Don’t you agree?! This cute couple planned everything from NYC perfectly down to every detail and are now Brooklynites, makes me miss BK!! Thank you Scott Zuehlke for your awesome photos!!

Boston Wedding – The Liberty Hotel

Here is the lovely Miss Andrea and her husband Andy’s Boston wedding at The Liberty Hotel. This was one of four gorgeous weddings in January I had the pleasure to style for! And the weather was just PERFECT and quite frankly everything about this wedding was perfect! Her dress was fit just right and flattered her cute figure oh-so-perfectly, her makeup, shout out to Dani Wagener, her jewelry, need I go on?! We are the NEW SOMERVILLE HAIR SALON in Ball Square! I say “new” but I feel as though we have been here forever. We have been welcomed by everyone in the neighborhood. There is a real sense of community in Ball Square. Starting with Ball Square Fine Wines, Sound Bites, True Grounds, Stinky’s Kittens & Dogs Too, Lyndell’s Bakery, and Yak & Yeti just to name a few. We love it here! Just a short walk from Davis Square

Kristen and I started off our first week strong! We had some of our neighboring business owners in for cuts, as well as lots of locals! I always ask our new clients how they were referred or heard of us. Every single answer is: “I saw that huge chandelier in the window, and of course had to stop in!” It truly illuminates the whole entire studio! We are in the right spot, indeed!

Thank you to my talented stylist, Miss Kristen, who has been my right hand girl. She is just a rock star! And..she just gave me a rock star haircut and color too! Here’s to an amazing 2013 in our NEW SOMERVILLE HAIR SALON!!

Boston Hairstylist Opens Hair Salon in Somerville

I know it has been some time since I have posted. Well, that is all about to change. The last few months we have been hard at work on our new hair salon in Somerville! We officially opened our doors Saturday, January 12th, which was also my Birthday! We are located at 106 Bristol Rd. Somerville, Ma. Who doesn’t want to be escorted across the harbor to their wedding reception at the Eastern Yacht Club?

We started off the morning at Ashley’s moms house getting ready. What a view! I had Miss Michelle McGrath beside me beautifying the glamorous bride and her girls, while I added soft cascading curls. Stress on a wedding day? Doesn’t happen with Tracy from Tangorra Wedding Planning and her assistant Taylor there. These ladies have it down! Thank you Ashley O’Dell for capturing this love story!

Hannah and Jared held their Boston wedding at the Taj Hotel in early November. This Boston wedding hairstylist was there on-site beatifying all of the lovelies with Cassandra by my side. With every wedding we style, there is always some sort of connection. The groom actually went to high school with my cousin’s wife’s sister in Foxborough, Ma. Small world, huh?! For the big day Miss Hannah decided on two french braids with a middle part and a low, whimsical bun. And her dress, my oh my was it stunning on her! What a beautiful day for a white wedding! Boston Engagement Hairstylist | Yue-Yung + Mike

Yue-Yung booked me for her wedding a few months before her trial. We were able to plan her trial the day of her Boston engagement shoot with Connie of Studio Atticus Photography and also coordinate with Tara of Tada Makeup! Best advice to all my brides to be!! That way, you can truly see your hair and makeup, how it photographs. You might see a photo, and think maybe your lipstick should be a bit softer, or perhaps a bolder eye, and maybe more volume for your hair. I highly recommend this ladies!

This trial was fun and unique! Yue-Yung wanted two looks in one. All up for the ceremony and then half-up half-down for the reception. Genius, right? I seamlessly created two styles in one. After the ceremony, she will simply let down the bottom half, while the top half will stay put! Brilliant! Looking forward to their wedding next season at Bourne Farm!
