We opened our studio on January 12th and we are rockin and rollin!! Woooohoooo!!! It is not just me here, I have Boston hairstylist, Miss Kristen Celona by my side. She is all sorts of amazingness!! It’s ok to make up words right? Well, that’s how I feel! She has a true passion for hair! We are the NEW SOMERVILLE HAIR SALON in Ball Square! I say “new” but I feel as though we have been here forever. We have been welcomed by everyone in the neighborhood. There is a real sense of community in Ball Square. Starting with Ball Square Fine Wines, Sound Bites, True Grounds, Stinky’s Kittens & Dogs Too, Lyndell’s Bakery, and Yak & Yeti just to name a few. We love it here! Just a short walk from Davis Square
Kristen and I started off our first week strong! We had some of our neighboring business owners in for cuts, as well as lots of locals! I always ask our new clients how they were referred or heard of us. Every single answer is: “I saw that huge chandelier in the window, and of course had to stop in!” It truly illuminates the whole entire studio! We are in the right spot, indeed!
Thank you to my talented stylist, Miss Kristen, who has been my right hand girl. She is just a rock star! And..she just gave me a rock star haircut and color too! Here’s to an amazing 2013 in our NEW SOMERVILLE HAIR SALON!!
I know it has been some time since I have posted. Well, that is all about to change. The last few months we have been hard at work on our new hair salon in Somerville! We officially opened our doors Saturday, January 12th, which was also my Birthday! We are located at 106 Bristol Rd. Somerville, Ma. You can’t miss us, our giant chandelier hanging in the front window lights up the whole entire salon! This Boston Hairstylist has moved into Somerville, Ball Square that is! Hannah and Jared held their Boston wedding at the Taj Hotel in early November. This Boston wedding hairstylist was there on-site beatifying all of the lovelies with Cassandra by my side. With every wedding we style, there is always some sort of connection. The groom actually went to high school with my cousin’s wife’s sister in Foxborough, Ma. Small world, huh?! For the big day Miss Hannah decided on two french braids with a middle part and a low, whimsical bun. And her dress, my oh my was it stunning on her! What a beautiful day for a white wedding! Yue-Yung booked me for her wedding a few months before her trial. We were able to plan her trial the day of her Boston engagement shoot with Connie of Studio Atticus Photography and also coordinate with Tara of Tada Makeup! Best advice to all my brides to be!! That way, you can truly see your hair and makeup, how it photographs. You might see a photo, and think maybe your lipstick should be a bit softer, or perhaps a bolder eye, and maybe more volume for your hair. I highly recommend this ladies!
This trial was fun and unique! Yue-Yung wanted two looks in one. All up for the ceremony and then half-up half-down for the reception. Genius, right? I seamlessly created two styles in one. After the ceremony, she will simply let down the bottom half, while the top half will stay put! Brilliant! Looking forward to their wedding next season at Bourne Farm!

I recently read a post by Tara at Tada Yourself discussing the topic of when to book your Boston vendor. She explained how important it is to book your vendors right away. I have to agree, being a Boston wedding hairstylist, I am already turning away 2013 clients because their dates are taken. I typically book out 9 months to a year and a half. When you know who you want to work with for your big day, make sure you secure them with a contract and deposit. It is better to have one more thing accomplished and get exactly who you want!
